Profile

Physiotherapy/Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy is a manual, drug free treatment of muscles, ligaments, tendons and facia.

Nowadays many people suffer from all types of neck pain and back pain, poor posture caused by various aspects of our daily life such as work, or a fall going back many years which we have forgotten about. With the passage of time the body and muscle bulk becomes altered producing pain in different places in your body, perhaps in your foot, back, neck etc.

Even though the adverse affects of "poor posture" can seriously impact on our quality of life it can certainly be treated through awareness and corrective action.

A course of Physical Therapy treatments can bring relief to pain. The number of treatments required depends on many factors such as how long you have had your injury/condition.

Shockwave Therapy

Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) is a medical treatment used to treat difficult areas of the body with tendinitis, tendinopathy's, ligament and bursitis pain.

All of these conditions treated with conventional hands on therapy and rehabilitation will only help the symptoms and not treat the cause.

Finally there is a treatment that actually works on the cause and the good news is that it can be treated in 3/4 treatments instead of months of different treatments and rest. Shockwave Therapy can get you back to your sport/functional life in no time.
Conditions Treated:-
Tennis Elbow - Lateral Epicondylitis
Golfer's Elbow - Medial Epicondylitis
Triceps Tendinitis/Tendinosis
Plantar Fasciitis/Heel Spur
Rotator Cuff Tendinitis/Tendinosis
Bursitis of the shoulder
Achilles Tendinitis / Tendinosis
Patellar Tendinitis / Tendinosis
Bursitis of the hip
Calcifying tendonitis of the shoulder
Helping Bones heal after a break or surgery

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a procedure in which an acupuncture needle is inserted into the skin and muscle. It is directed at myofascial trigger points in the muscle (or muscles that are in spasm), a palpable tender nodule in a taut muscle.

Muscular spasm can be defined as an involuntary contraction of a muscle or muscle group. It is usually the size of a pea and when pressure is applied to the area, tenderness, and referring pain is experienced.

Dry Needling is a scientifically proven form of treatment to treat trigger points

Orthotics

Orthotics are temporary or customised orthopaedic insoles that fit easily and securely within your footwear. They are designed to fit your feet more efficiently than over-the-counter arch supports and balance the biomechanical inadequacies of your feet and legs, which allows you to get on with daily living pain free and improve your sporting achievements.
Foot orthotics allow the muscles, tendons and bones of the feet and lower legs to function at their highest potential. Orthotics can decrease pain, not only in the foot, but in other parts of the body such as the knee, hip and lower back. They can also increase stability in an unstable joint, prevent a deformed foot from developing additional problems, and improve overall quality of life.

Dry Cupping

Cups have been used in healing in many countries for hundreds of years. Traditionally cups, which can be made of glass or bamboo, are applied to the skin surface by inserting ignited material into the cup to create a vacuum. The cups are rapidly placed on the skin surface to create suction. This is known as "hot" cupping. Suction can also be created through non-igneous cups using a pump, this is know as "cold cupping". This is what we use in Energise Therapy.

This treatment is not painful and feels similar to deep massage work. It can be especially beneficial for patients that may have a sensitivity to dry needles. The therapy is soothing and can provide immediate relief from body aches and pains.

Cupping aids in healthcare and illness prevention in four main ways. One, it is warming to the body and promotes the free flow of Qi (energy) and blood in the body.
