Baggot Court Townhouse Hotel and it's History
Baggot Court Townhouse Hotel Dublin is full of History 92 Lower Baggot Street - Baggot Court Townhouse - was constructed sometime around 1829 and was owned by a Mr Curtin who worked as a stockbroker and who later, in 1829, sold the house to Mr T. O’Brien who used it as his family home. Mr. Timothy O’Brien was a successful businessman and Wine Merchant and he was later to become the Lord Mayor of Dublin in 1844.
The function of Lord Mayor of Dublin is largely symbolic and consists of chairing City Council meetings. Dublin has had a Mayor for nearly 800-years. The current Lord Mayor resides in the eighteenth century Mansion House on nearby Dawson Street. A privilege enjoyed by the Lord Mayor is to receive the first car registered in Dublin at the beginning of each new year, i.e. in 2012 the Mayor's car registration was "12–D–1".

Excellent location in Dublin City Centre
I would definitely recommend the Baggot Court Townhouse as a place to stay. The location was excellent. It's close enough to walk to most places, yet in a quiet neighborhood away from crazy, loud action. The price was quite reasonable for a hotel in the center of Dublin. Our room was clean and met our needs. The complimentary WIFI was great. We opted out of breakfast, and instead picked something up from the many coffee shops down the street. Be prepared to climb stairs. We stayed on the top floor which meant 4 flights of stairs. We didn't have a problem with it, but it's not for everyone. I would stay here again the next time I'm in Dublin.
